This week in Spanish 2 we used the website Animoto to write comparative sentences using the words más and menos. We made a slide show comparing two people or two things. The sentence structure for a comparing sentence is más/menos + noun, adjective, or adverb+ que.
In our Spanish 2 class we have recently used creative commons to copy and paste pictures with the owners approval. I dont like it near as much as just searching and getting any image on Google because there is far less selection. Even though there are less pictures, theres still some good ones and i like the fact that we arent illegally taking the pictures from Google. After using the pictures from creative commons, we thank the whoever the person is who took the photo. This way we aren’t copy writing and using the pictures illegally.
Mi universidad favorita ahora mismo es Texas. Me gustaría asistir a ACU porque me encanta correr o jugar al baloncesto allí. Me gustaría hacer algo en el área de la medicina y después no sé. Para lograr mis objetivos voy a ser trabajador.
In our Spanish class, we recently covered vocabulary and grammar structures dealing with our daily routines and how we get ready for school. Also, we learned what reflexive verbs were and we learned how to correctly use the verbs in our writing and conversations.
Voki Project
We were required to use our avatar from Voki to discuss our daily routine for getting ready to go to school. Here are the steps we took:
we wrote a script
submitted a rough draft
our teacher told us what was wrong, but not how to fix it
then we corrected our script and practiced pronunciation
we used our cell phones to call in a record our daily routine script
our avatar was emailed to our teacher and embedded on our blogs
This project counts as our six weeks test grade.
My Opinion
I felt like this project was pretty cool because we had to use our phones, which was different. Using voki and my avatar was pretty entertaining and i enjoyed it. I enjoyed it because i have never done anything like it before and it was more interesting than working with pencil and paper. Having our avatar speak for us was nice because we could redo what we had to say if necessary and the avatars don’t mess up. If i had a choice, i would rather have the avatar speak for us instead of us havng to speak in front of the class. This project was definitely valuable for me because i learned more about blogging and how to use the computer a little better.
In Spanish 2, we created a Stixy Board and made some sentences to go along with the pictures. 2 of the sentences were tener que, which is used when you “have to” do something, 2 were present tense, which is just a normal sentence, 2 were present progressive, which is “happening and continuing to happen”, and 2 immediate future, which is “going to happen.”
After reviewing adjectives, I did a project describing my favorite person. I used the Stixy website and uploaded photos of my person, then wrote sentences in Spanish describing her. I used the verb ser becasue that is the descriptive verb in the spanish language.
In the first 6 weeks of Spanish 2, we reviewed basic conversation. We have just created our own personal avatar and we wrote some basic facts about ourselves. Here is my avatar:
